I realise that I haven’t been keeping up my posting of my weekly Buddhist News & Musings for prisoners on this blog for almost a year. I have been prompted to resume by the sad death of Rev Saido Kennaway. Since I have written about him and the forthcoming funeral in these two newsletters I felt they should have a wider audience.

These newsletters were begun soon after Covid brought about shutdowns in the prisons and were aimed at providing Buddhist prisoners with some support and guidance when visits by Buddhist chaplains were stopped or restricted. I little thought when they were begun that I’d keep them going this long but there it is, they still seem to be wanted and to be serving some useful purpose and so I have kept them going. But I make no claim to their having any great literary, artistic or academic merit.
